The King’s Head has a large selection of Welsh Real Ales. ’.
The King’s Head has 2 main bars, the top bar you will find a warm cosy atmosphere with a wood burning stove, exposed beams and often friendly locals. The shelves behind the bar boast probably one of the most extensive collections of malt whiskies outside Scotland (with over 100 available), and they were mostly personally collected by the landlady from Scotland, as she was president of the Shetland pony society and made many a trip to Scotland, obviously apart from our local Penderyn Whisky distilled in Wales!
The bottom bar is our pet-friendly bar, with a wood burning stove and exposed beams. The slate floor was installed in January 2017, closely followed by our gin selection we are sure to find one that takes your fancy!
As a pub, the King’s Head has always tried not to run out of beer, but unfortunately, this did happen in WWII. Fortunately, though a barrel Italian wine had been washed up on the beach and this was served instead – could this have been the first Pinot Grigio in Gower? This is also rumoured to be the history of the barrel chair in the bottom bar – no waste there!
